Giving something back

We’re cheering for you – the one who wants to create something new, solve a problem, bring people together, or simply make everyday life a little better for more people.

The Frost Fund supports everything from small local initiatives to big projects with ripple effects far beyond our borders.

The Frost Fund is a foundation that supports projects with a clear social impact. That could be anything from small neighbourhood initiatives to larger humanitarian efforts – here in Norway or out in the world.

The fund was set up as part of a generational shift in Frost – and a strong wish from the Frost family to give something back. Today, the Frost Fund owns 10% of all Frost companies. That means part of the profit from the homes we build and rent out goes straight back into the community.

What do we support?

The Frost Fund backs projects that make a real difference. We’re especially drawn to ideas that include others and create ripple effects beyond themselves. That could be anything from a school marching band in need of new instruments, to larger international efforts that promote safety, health or inclusion.

You don’t need connections. You don’t need to be big. But you do need a project that matters – to more people than just yourself.

Who can apply to the Frost Fund?

Anyone, really. Whether you’re an individual, an organisation, a group of volunteers, a sports team or a non-profit company – it doesn’t matter. If your project gives something back to the community, we’re interested.

How to apply

To apply for funding, just fill out the application form below. Along with a description of your project, we’d like you to reflect on which of the UN Sustainable Development Goals it supports. You can read more about how we work with the SDGs in Frost Eiendom, or check out a full overview of the goals. We also recommend having a look at the Frost Fund’s statutes to make sure your project fits the criteria.

From the statutes:

“When choosing which projects to support, we place special emphasis on initiatives that are innovative, developmental – and create lasting value.”

“If the funding goes to a humanitarian cause, it should especially benefit vulnerable groups in society – and help as many people as possible to help themselves.”

“The foundation’s funds are generally not meant to cover day-to-day operating costs.”

Local community projects

We support initiatives that bring activity and joy to local communities – mainly in Trøndelag.
You can apply for up to NOK 15,000. Applications are open to individuals, teams, clubs and volunteer organisations – with or without a formal organisation number.

Here are some examples of what we’ve supported before:

  • Jerseys and equipment for local sports teams
  • Support for concerts, festivals and events
  • Class trips and shared experiences
  • Equipment for volunteer groups and associations

Application deadlines: February 1 and October 1

Development projects – for the bigger ideas

This funding is for more ambitious projects, where you’re applying for more than NOK 15,000.

Right now, this programme is on hold until 2027. We’re taking time to sharpen the purpose and direction of our development funding – to make sure the impact is clear and meaningful.

When applications reopen in 2026, it’ll be easier to understand exactly what kinds of projects we’re looking to support.
